The Royal Carré Theatre Amsterdam was Vicente Amigo’s living room for the evening. Or so it seemed. The allmost full house filled up with aficionados excited to hear the maestro play. In contrast with all this excitement, Amigo played relaxed and virtuoso. As if he was playing among friends.
He captivatited the audience from the very first note. You could almost feel the attention payed by the listeners. “I don’t want you to fall asleep” Amigo announced half way through the concert and started a more upbeat piece. I am sure no one fell asleep, but the sounds of the evening must have surely reached the dreams of the night.
Vicente Amigo onder vrienden
Een bijna uitverkocht Koninklijk Theater Carré was een avond lang de huiskamer van Vicente Amigo. De flamencogitarist was hier duidelijk onder vrienden en speelde ontspannen en virtuoos. Het publiek liet zich vanaf de eerste aanslag meenemen met zijn spel.
De aandacht waarmee geluisterd werd, was voelbaar. Maar, zei Amigo halverwege het concert: “Ik wil niet dat jullie in slaap vallen” om een meer upbeat stuk in te zetten. In slaap viel niemand, al zullen de klanken van de avond in veel dromen van de nacht zijn doorgedrongen.
